I have been blessed that I was allowed to create this house! I had worked with these clients in the past, and when they asked if I would do a new house for them, it was an honor. My clients allowed me so much creative freedom which in turn brought out the best in everyone.

We started with an amazing canvas in the lot itself, with a challenging grade. The home sits so perfectly on the lot, which we designed to take advantage of the view and to accomodate a pool. The house is light and fresh, with green windows and green undertones in the roof. The galvanized gutters and downspouts maintain the fresh feel.

Our clients are so generous with their time and spaces, and we wanted a home that would allow them to entertain, but feel comfortable for their family at the same time. The flow of the home works so well and the spaces are defined just enough.

The home for me took on a vision immediately. Working through the details of the house design, cabinetry and kitchen design, surfaces, apliances, plumbing and lighting were effortless. When I came to the point of fabrics to facilitate colors, I actually was blocked for a couple of days (very frustrating!). A large scale blue and cream check fabric changed everything. That fabric made up the end pillows on the sofas in the living room. Once I fell in love with it, the rest all fell into place.

It was so rewarding during the last several weeks of the project to see all of the decisions made over the previous months take shape and come to life. The final details make the magic of the house, not to mention the furnishings, rugs, lamps, accessories, drapes, blinds and art. I had been ordering and selecting for quite some time and it was so exciting to put it all together. Almost everything came from Dwellings..

This project incorporated a great team of people. From the home designer, builder, and all of the trades, it was well orchestrated.
